ETHICS VIOLATION
Ravenscraft ran for State House Representative in 2018 and 2020. When the campaign ends candidates are required to continue to file campaign disclosure reports until they file a termination report with a zero balance. If a candidate has a balance, they can return funds to donors, make a donation to another candidate. or donate the money to a charity. Ravenscraft filed a report on January 31, 2021 showing a balance of $6,500.17. He never filed another report after that. What happened to the balance of $6,500.17?

Lowering taxes on residents by introducing an additional tax on Storage Unit Properties, additional taxes on Corporate-owned single-family homes, and increasing the hotel tax.
The hotel tax was recently raised by the commissioners. Most motels and hotels are within city limits, so they are a limited revenue source for the county. Targeting certain businesses and corporations that own properties with additional taxes would most likely not be considered constitutional in court.
Implementing conservative zoning, this means no zoning or variance approval for developers seeking to build homes over 2,200 square feet.
The square footage is determined by the market based on cost and what buyers desire. You cannot, nor would you want to, restrict the size of homes that can be built. This appears to be another constitutional issue.
Increasing pay for Cherokee heroes.
Absolutely! Our public safety personnel received significant raises from the county several years ago, and they continue to offer comparable salaries and benefits to those provided by our neighboring counties.
Ensuring fiscal responsibility & transparency.
The county is not immune to the effects of rising inflation. Just like its citizens, the cost of goods and services has skyrocketed since 2020. The budgets are accessible on the county website for review. During a public meeting, the commissioners approve every expenditure, and you have the chance to see it in person, watch it on video, or read the minutes. The state has given awards to the county for its transparency.
